FAQ

  • Are life jackets included in the rental?
    Yes, we include all the necessary equipment such as paddles, storage bags and emergency kits. Most importantly, we supply the life jackets at no extra costs. It is helpful if you advise what size you will need.
  • How far in advance do we need to book?
    When the weather is good we tend to book up faster, so the sooner you book, the more likely you'll get the rental you want. That being said, there are days where you can do same day booking, but suggest you book ahead so to not disappoint. We do our best to accommodate.
  • Do you offer kayak lessons?
    No, we do not have the courses for training, however, we will show you the basics of what is required when kayaking for the first time.
  • Do you offer guided tours?
    We do not offer guided tours, but we do plan to in the future.
  • Is the lake/river safe to kayak on?
    We monitor the shores daily. We keep an eye to make sure the weather is safe to venture out, but we do know that can change and require you to get to the nearest shore at the first sign of change. We will postpone/reschedule if the wind conditions are too extreme. Safety comes first, and we need to ensure you feel safe and comfortable on the water.
  • Is there a fee for last minute cancellation?
    We understand that life happens, and things can change. We are a small business with family and our time is valuable as well, so the more notice you can give us, the better. If we are able to rebook to another customer then we will allow you to reschedule with no additional fee. If you are unable to rebook a refund is issued at the discretion of the team. If the weather does not look promising we may need to cancel your booking and we apologize for that too.
  • What type of payment do you accept?
    We accept cash, but prefer e-transfer at this time. Debit is available upon delivery if requested in advance.
  • How far in advance do we have to pay for our booking?
    Your booking is confirmed by payment. Priority is given on a first made-first paid basis, don't wait, as we do book up fast with groups.
  • Do you pick up and drop off the kayaks?
    Yes, we do. We have designated launch areas that are easy for you to access. General pickups are at the bottom of the Broadway Bridge. If you would rather a different spot we do charge a delivery fee of $10 each way within limits. Minimum 4 kayaks. Based on availability of staff and resources.
  • Can you transport us back to our vehicles?
    Unfortunately no, we cannot transport people. You will need to have your own ride. An option is finding a ride from a friend or family member.
  • How many kayaks do you have?
    At this time, our fleet consists of: 10 single (sit in) PELICAN Mission kayaks, with a weight capacity of 300 lbs 1 sit on-top PELICAN Catch with increased weight capacity of 350 lbs. Perfect for fishing or someone with extra gear and even your dog! As well, we carry 2 PELICAN stand-up boards
  • Do you deliver to other locations?
    Yes we will! With enough notice and only if you are renting out 5-8 kayaks, but we do have to charge extra for delivery.
  • Is there somewhere we can store our belongings on the kayak?
    There are holders for your belongings, be we recommend putting anything valuable in a Ziploc or waterproof bag so nothing gets water damage.
  • Do you deliver the stand-up paddle boards?
    Yes we want this experience to be convenient for you. In the event you are renting a paddle board with a kayak, then we would bring it with the delivery of the kayak.
